Tine Baun creates history as she became the oldest All England women’s singles winner at the open era when she outsmart the youngest finalist Intanon Ratchanok in a superb final match.

At 33 years of age, Tine Baun defeated her 18 year old opponent with a score of 21-14, 16-21, 21-10 and brought to an end the career of one of the most outstanding players of the past 10 years and the only woman to threaten the Chinese dominance.

To everybody’s surprise, the dane only decided to compete in this year’s tournament as a “last adventure” but instead the 7th seed won the title.

Congratulations to Tine Baun and thank you for being a super badminton ambasaddor and to Intanon Ratchanok, don’t despair as you will soon be a champion.
