This shot is usually used to force your opponents to lift the shuttle or even to win the rally.

The net shot is played from your fore court to your opponents fore court. A great deal of touch is needed when hitting the net shot. The more your practice the better feel you will get.

Good players will add some spin to the net shot to make it harder to return the net shot.

Start with a split step just after your opponents hit the shuttle. Lunge to the net with the racket foot and knee aligned with the rear foot with an angle to help protect the knee joints.

Present the racket face to the shuttle, bend the wrist back allowing the racket head to position itself below the hand.

Reach forward but don’t look out the elbow and then push the shuttle over the net.
