Taufik Hidayat took on Peter Gade in the French Open 2009 Super Series badminton tournament. It is in the men singles semi finals where the two great champions face off.

Both are on the twilight of their careers but they are not going down without putting up a good show. I reckon the next Olympic in London will be the last for both of them.

Anyway we shall not talk about retirements but we shall stay focus on the match where two great champions play. This is our first match that we brought to you from France 2009 and i hope i have a few more to share with you badminton lovers out there!

Thanks Jason! I agree that it's too bad that there must be only one at the end. I was there and I can tell you that both players are really loved by the fans. somehow Taufik had his revenge from last year's final. however he probably lost too much energy to defeat LD the next day... by the way, could you post the MXD semi-finals? they were just great.

Don't like the new outfit of Peter at all, but it's a great match to watch. Peter is having more trouble with his defencive shots, his reflexes are getting worse every day from now on :(
