Michelle Li wins the gold medal at the 2014 edition of the Commonwealth Games against Kirsty Gilmour the home crowd favorite with a score of 21-14, 21-7 in 38 minutes.

Not only that, Michelle Li also beat the top seed PV Sindhu of India in straight games in the semi finals en-route to the gold medal in Glasgow.

It is a historic win for Michelle Li where badminton is not a popular sports in Canada.

With her win, Canada produce a train of aspiring badminton players? Will her win spur the sports in Canada? Only time will tell. We congratulate Michelle Li and all the winners at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. We hope Canada will produce more Michelle Li. All the best!
