After a surprising straight sets lost to Chen Long at the recent All England 2013 championship, Lee Chong Wei was humbled again by another Chinese up and coming player.

A world junior champion by the name of Tian Hou Wei defeated Chong Wei in 3 sets at the Australian Open 2013 men single semi final. Chong Wei lost 19-21, 21-17, 18-12 to the Chinese youngster. Take nothing away from the youngster but Chong Wei’s recent form is really a worry for Chong Wei’s supporters.

The lost in Sydney is really shocking as nobody expected the world number 196 player to beat Chong Wei. This shows that Chong Wei is on a downturn as age is catching up. It is not surprising as his nemesis Lin Dan hasn’t appear in any tournament after the London 2012 Olympics.
