A terrible news and blow to the Danish contingent despite qualifying for the Thoas Cup Finals as the No.1 team in Europe as their star player Carsten Mogensen collapsed and had to undergo an open brain surgery in Kazan, ambulance Russia during the European Team Championships last week.
The world No. 4 Mogensen-Mathias Boe managed to play one match against Turkey on the opening day.
Boe related the incident on his Facebook two days later on Thursday: “Carsten collapsed in my room, prescription being numb in his left side and with a very bad headache.
“We rushed him to a hospital, and it turns out to be a bursted aneurism in the right side of his brain.”
We hope Carsten Mogensen will have a speedy recovery.
