This is a coaching video by coach Engholm. In this video you will see 2 types of backhand long line.

Type 1 : The first backhand is often used in singles, and is a backhand with followthrough. The backhand is played fast into the court and player steps back into the court as fast as possible to be ready for the next stroke. Player tries to make the shuttle dive as it passes the top of the net.

Type 2 : Use backhand grip turning it slightly against thumb grip before impact. Move elbow like playing a cross court stroke and slice the shuttle.

Focus for Type 1 : Use backhand grip slightly turned against fried pan grip before impact. Move elbow towards the shuttle and the rotate in lower arm with a whip effect. Push back into the court as fast as possible.

Focus for Type 2 : Use backhand grip turning it slightly against thumb grip before impact. Move elbow like playing a cross court stroke and slice the shuttle.
