Lee Chong Wei continued his journey at the All England 2010 badminton championship when he defeated Chetan Anand of India 21-15, 21-16 in a 26 minutes battle.

Sony is next up for Chong Wei. It will be a mouth watering affair as Chong Wei will be looking to avenge his defeat to Sony at the last World Championships.

The biggest shocked for Malaysia happened in the men doubles event when top seed Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong lost in straights games to Danish pairing of Jonas Rasmussen-Lars Paaske. The top Malaysian pair lost in just 27 minutes, loosing 13-21 and 11-21.

Malaysia women team was more disappointing as all crashed out. Wong Mew Choo lost to Jiang Yanjiao 18-21, 9-21.

Wong Pei Tty-Chin Eei Hui lost to Greysia Polii-Meiliana Jauhari 20-22,15-21. Pei Tty-Eei Hui is ranked fourth in this tournament.

Gan Teik Chai-Tan Bin Shen, Hafiz, Tan Fook-Wan Wah together with Chong Wei are still the remaining players left to carry Malaysia challenge in the All England.

I won’t be surprised if Chong Wei and company will be sent home all together today as their nemesis waiting at the next round are all tough.

Malaysian in action today at the 2010 All England Championship :-

Lee Chong Wei vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro
Hafiz Hashim vs Lin Dan
Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah vs Cho Gun Woo-Kwon Yi Goo
Gan Teik Chai-Tan Bin Shen vs Chai Biao-Zhang Nan.

definately a tough challenge for all shuttlers to step forward as shuttlers from all over the countries had well prepared themselves and treat all england badminton court as their great performance stage in order to get a ticket to join coming thomas cup. No matter how well shuttlers prepared behind the court, whenever it comes to the real match, there will be always another different stories as it's all depends on the spot performance. Anyhow,I just sincerely hope Malaysia remaining shuttlers will fight till the end, show their fighting spirit in every set of games !!! All the best to Chong Wei,Hafiz,Tan Fook& Wan Wah and Teik Chai & Bin Shen.

Was right next to the court when koo and tan were playing, they didn't look at all interested in the game, although in fairness to the Danes they were playing a very solid game to win. Very few errors.

To julskechap: I thin koo and tan is just not up to the standard yet. They are lacking of consistency and determination. They lost in 27 minutes when they are on top of the world rank. Being No. 1 and cannot perform when it really matters indicates they do not deserved to be up there. Just compare them with the Korean pairs and Chinese pair, the gap is huge in term of consistency and determination plus skill as well.

    To martin_ger :

Here is the answers you requested.

Bao Chun Lai and Taufik both proceed to quarter final stage. Today Bao Chun Lai will meet Lin dan whereas Taufik will fight against Peter Gade.

    Round 2 results,
Taufik won Andrew Smith (England) 21-18,21-14
Bao Chun Lai won Park Sung Hwan (Korea) 21-5,21-10

Women Single, Juliane Schenk is the only german shuttler who proceed to quarter final stage after clashing out Bae Youn Joo (Korea) with straight games (21-14,21-16). Today she will clash with Saina from India.

  • Here's a strange observation, not sure if anyone else has noticed this but why do caucasian players wipe the soles of their shoes with their barehands? Never seen an asian player do that. Its never even entered my mind using my hands to clean off my shoes, I'd rather step on a damp towel yet I see it all the time with caucasian players who don't think twice about using their clean hands and wiping the dirt off… seems pretty disgusting.

Lin Dan & Taufit out!! LD lost to BCL in 3 sets 21-17 in the 3rd and Taufik lost to PG 22-20 in the 3rd

  • I SOOOO wanna see those matches… I wish they were uploaded already :(.

  • Were they even filmed? 🙁

  • kimchua 6 years ago

These would be a cracker of a match. The PG/TH match 22-20, 20-22, 22-20 (who says these days, the first badminton player to 21 points wins!!??) lasted for 121 minutes. Chong Wei beat Shon in 3 sets too.

  • aPhish 6 years ago

Wasn't filmed, on court three. BCL was playing like a beast in the final game.
