Lin Dan took on Simon Santoso of Indonesia at the Korea Open 2011 men single semi finals match. It will be a tall order for Simon Santoso to beat Lin Dan as Simon has not beaten Lin Dan before in all their previous meetings.

On the other hand Lin Dan will be looking forward to the next match if he can beat Simon Santoso which is Lee Chong Wei in the finals. Can the up and coming Simon Santoso upset one of the greatest badminton player on earth? I know there are many Indonesian fans here at badmintonfreak and I know all of you there will be rooting for Simon Santoso. All the best!

One of the on form women single players, Wang Shixian of China took on Porntip Buranaprasertsuk of Thailand in the Korea Open 2011 women single semi finals.

No doubt on paper, Wang Shixian will be the super hot racket-wielding favorites to win against Porntip Buranaprasertsuk but we hope the Thai gal will be able to give Wang Shixian a run for her money and do not give her a walk in the park.

Can the Thai-phoon cause a major upset on the Great Wall of China?

After a few poor results, Koo Kien Keat & Tan Boon Heong made it to the Korea Open 2011 men double semi finals. In the semis, they will play home favorites Lee Yong Dae & Jung Jae Sung.

The last few meetings have been close and the Malaysian pair come out tops. Matches between Koo Kien Keat & Tan Boon Heong and Lee Yong Dae & Jung Jae Sung has always been entertaining.

Another all Chinese affair in the women double finals of the Malaysia Open 2011 badminton championship.

Tian Qing & Zhao Yunlei will take on Wang Xiaoli & Yu Yang in the finals. Another world class match is expected although both are from China.

Rallies will be long with loads of attacking and defending by both pairing. A good match for those neutral badminton supporters. (more…)

Chai Biao & Guo Zhendong took on Mads Conrads Petersen & Jonas Rasmussen at the Malaysia Open 2011 men double finals. Both pairing are quite new.

I am impressed with the results shown my Mads Conrads Petersen & Jonas Rasmussen as they have shown tremendous understanding to each other on their new partnership on court.

I will be rooting for the danish pair to win this match but as usual the Chinese will be strong and will be going for the title as well. New pairing and new players keeps the badminton world excited and we really want to see them perform and upset those old players. This is what badminton is all about. The competition and hunger for success!

He Hanbin & Ma Jin plays Tao Jianming & Tian Qing at the 2011 Malaysia Open badminton mixed double finals. This will be evenly matchup as both He Hanbin & Ma Jin knows Tao Jianming & Tian Qing game very well.

As usual, the Chinese are always dominant at the women single, women double and mixed double events of the world badminton matches.

With these two world class pairing on show at Malaysian soil, an interesting battle will be available for all my badminton lovers at badmintonfreak!

Current world no.1 pairing and the pair on top form from Denmark, Carsten Mogensen & Mathias Boe took on Jung Jae Sung & Lee Yong Dae of South Korea at the men doubles finals of the Super Series even at Taiwan.

Both pair will be looking to start the year with a bang. Of late, the Korean have been playing not so consistent if comparing with the Danish pair. Maybe it is due to Yong Dae’s recent injury that occur to him.

Nonetheless, expect a pulsating match between this top class men double pairs.

Wang Shixian of China, top seed will take on Bae Youn Joo of South Korea at the Super Series Finals 2011. The Chinese star will start as favorite to win this title but the South Korean will give her best to stop her nemesis.

Do not ever write the South Korean out as who expected them to win the Uber Cup the last time around? Korean ginseng to stop the Great Wall of China? We shall soon find it out!
