Xie Xingfang took on top seed Zhou Mi in the quarter finals of the World Badminton Championship 2009 women singles event.

It should be a tough one to call as Zhou Mi is playing well but Xingfang is still Xingfang. On her day, she can beat anybody. Xingfang might have lost some fire after loosing the Beijing Olympics but she will be determine to do well against her former compatriot Zhou Mi.

Pi Hongyan (France) took on Zhou Mi (Hong Kong) in the Women Singles semi finals of the Super Series badminton tournament at the Korea Open 2009. In their last meeting Zhou Mi defeated Hongyan.

This time around Pi Hongyan turned the tables on the World No.1 Zhou Mi with a 23-21, 19-21, 21-12 score in a 59 minutes battle. Enjoy the video.

The previous time they met, Zhou Mi was victorious but this time around, Tine Rasmussen got the better of Zhou Mi with a 21-17, 15-21, 21-16 scoreline in a 56 minutes battle.

Surprise surprise. Instead of seeing Wong Mew Choo in the finals for Malaysia, giant killer Julia Wong made it all the way to the finals of the Macau Open 2008.

Can she continue her giant killing run against the vast experience Zhou Mi of Hong Kong? Julia started well in the match by taking a 5-0 lead but once Zhou Mi got her act right, Julia wasn’t her class at all. Zhou Mi blasted Julia 21-13 in the first set.

In the second set, Julia gave a better fight but couldnt stop Zhou Mi from winning her 2nd title in 3 tournaments. Zhou Mi won 21-13, 21-19. Zhou Mi won the match in 36 minutes.
