The big question that ponders in many people’s mind today in a titanic clash between Malaysia and China in the Sudirman Cup 2009 semi finals. Can Malaysia upset China?
On paper, it’s a BIG NO! Malaysia don’t have the depth to beat China on paper. Mixed doubles point is as good as gone. Even our women doubles pairing will not take anything from China.
Malaysia will have to get their points from Men Singles, Men Doubles and Women Singles.
Hope they can beat all odds to stun the partisan China home crowd. A tall order to ask from our Malaysians team but we got nothing to loose. Go go go Malaysia!

Malaysia made history by beating Denmark in their final group game to qualify for the Semi Finals of the Sudirman Cup 2009 for the first time.
Malaysia gain victory in the Men Singles (Lee Chong Wei), Men Doubles (Koo Kien Keat & Tan Boon Heong) and Women Singles (Wong Mew Choo).
Denmark meanwhile sneaked 2 points from the Mixed Doubles and Women Doubles event.
Malaysia will take on mighty China in the semi finals. Bring the Great Wall on.

For Malaysia to qualify for the Sudirman Cup semi finals, Denmark will be standing in Malaysia’s way. Both Malaysia and Denmark lost surprisingly to dark horses Korea. There is no two ways about this match. Crucial for both countries.
Malaysia fell 2-3 to Korea while the Danes lost 1-4 to the Koreans. I expect the Koreans to bulldoze Hong Kong in their final group match. So the Malaysia vs Denmark winner will play mighty China.
Malaysia will once again be banking on Lee Chong Wei, Koo Kien Keat & Tan Boon Heong, Chin Eei Hui & Wong Pei Tty and Wong Mew Choo to get the points.
Malaysia will have the upper hand against the Danes as Peter Gade wasn’t well against Park Shung Hwan. Migraine it seems. The Danish women singles player was very poor against the Korean.
I predict a tough battle with Malaysia winning 3-2. Any other predictions and comments is welcome.
