Lee Yong Dae-Lee Hyo Jung took on Nova Widianto-Liliyana Natsir in the All England 2010 badminton championship in the mixed doubles semi finals.

Yong Dae-Hyo Jung is the current Olympic champions while Widianto-Liliyana are former world champions. Nova-Liliyana suppose to quit badminton in 2010 but Nova made a U-turn and made a comeback. The Indonesian is playing well to get this far in this tournament.

This will be an evenly battle between two of the well known mixed doubles pairing. Yong Dae will be on the spot light again as he has been off form of late. Whether he is carrying an injury is still not know. Enjoy the match that brings loads of high quality rallies.

Nova Widianto & Liliyana Natsir made it to the All England 2010 mixed doubles finals. Nova who is suppose to retire by the end of 2009 didn’t quit the sports and continued for another year and had another crack on the prestigious All England title.

Waiting for the former champions is scratch pairing of Zhang Nan-Zhao Yunlei of China. It is amazing how China can produce so many world class mixed doubles pairing from nothing.

On paper the Indonesian will be the slight favorites with the experience while the Chinese will be banking on their youth and power play to upset the Indonesian.

Can the scratch pairing caused another major upset after defeating many world class pairs along the way to the All England Finals?

Another video for the Polish badminton team as Robert Mateusiak & Nadiezda Kostiuczyk took on Nova Widianto & Lilyana Natsir in the mixed doubles badminton tournament of the Copenhagen Masters 2009.

Robert Mateusiak & Nadiezda Kostiuczyk has been playing good badminton of late by virtually beating higher ranked mixed doubles pairing.

Meanwhile Nova & Lilyana has been on the downhill of late. I guess Nova is feeling the pressure of his age catching up. Nonetheless, i dedicate this video to all my Polish supporters in badmintonfreak and all those badminton lovers out there.

The moral of this video that you can learn is that, never give up! ^^

On paper, Nova Widianto & Lilyana Natsir will be the clear favorites but can their compatriots put a stop on them? We shall see it to find it out!

Joachim Fischer & Christinna Pedersen of Denmark took on Nova Widianto & Lilyana Natsir in the Japan Open 2009 mixed doubles badminton tournament.

If i am not mistaken, Nova Widianto is retiring end of this season. The reason for him to quit the sports is that he is getting old. Honestly, i still think he is good and not yet too old.

Anyway enjoy this mixed doubles match the first one i am bringing on from the Japan Open 2009. More to come and stay tune!

The only match up where China wasn’t involved in the finals. Indonesia, Nova Widianto & Liliyana Natsir took on Thomas Laybourn & Kamilla Rytter Juhl of Denmark in the finals of the world badminton championship 2009 in Hyderabad.

Nova & Liliyana Natsir is the second seed for the tournament and the Danish pairing is the seventh seed in the tournament. On paper, the Indonesian will have it easy against the Danish but the Danish had been playing well the whole tournament.

Malaysia’s top mixed doubles pairing of Koo Kien Keat & Ng Hui Lin took on an Indonesian volcano of Nova Widianto & Liliyana Natsir in the mixed doubles event of the world badminton championship 2009 in Hyderabad.

To be honest, if Kien Keat really concentrate in mixed doubles, i think he and Hui Lin can make a good combination but we can’t ask too much from Kien Keat since he has also men doubles. Not only that, we can’t expect everybody to perform like Lee Yong Dae right?

The Indonesian pair of Nova and Liliyana Natsir had a few heart break prior to this final match up. Nova & Liliyana lost to Thomas Layburn & Kamilla Rytter Juhl at the recent Super Series Finals despite have a 4 match points advantage.

From the videos, we can clearly see that Nova Widianto was up for the challenge from the start. He was dictating the play and left the Korean with no chance to attacked at all in the first set. The Indonesian pair won 21-14 in the first set.

The Indonesian pair raced to a 20-16 advantage in the second set but the Koreans managed to clawed their way back to 20-19 but an error at the net gave Nova Widianto & Liliyana Natsir their first title of the year.
