What more can i say? Malaysia had a great start when Lee Chong Wei and Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong gave Malaysia a 2-0 lead.

After that Malaysia went crashing loosing the next 3 matches. Wong Choong Hann, Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari-Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif and Hafiz Hashim went down to Japanese opponents.

Once again, Hafiz Hashim has let Malaysia down. Anyway credits to Japan for playing well and stunned the Malaysians in front of their partisan crowd.

Malaysia is drawn to meet Denmark and i foresee another sad ending for Malaysia in front of their home fans at the quarter finals tie.

From my humble point of view, my home country, Malaysia, will not have a bright chance to carry the cup that they last won in 1992. A semi final appearance by them is considered as an achievement. I was watching the 1992 finals on the TV and trust me i was pumped up every point that Malaysia won.

It was 18 years ago. It took Malaysia 25 years to win the 1992 Thomas cup! Maybe i have to wait another 5 editions before i can see Malaysia carry the cup again?

My pick will be China again this year. China have a strong singles and doubles lineup. I don’t see any other country stopping them this time again. The only country that can give China a run for their money will be Denmark.

Denmark have 2 strong doubles pairing. Not only that, they can bank on Peter Gade, Jan O Jorgensen and also Joachim Persson for the points.

Sadly, Indonesia and South Korea wont have the depth to challenge China. China for the wind. What do you all think?

Back to back quarter final exit for Lin Dan in the recent All England and Swiss Open 2010 has cause many to think whether Lin Dan has lost his aura in court.

At the All England quarter finals, Lin Dan lost to Bao Chunlai 16-21, 21-17, 18-21 while at the Swiss Open, Peter Gade beat him with a score of 21-16, 21-17.

To be honest, the world championship 2009, Lin Dan was at his super best. He dismantled all the opponents that came his way. Even Peter Gade at his best wasn’t close in defeating him.

Has Lin Dan lost motivation in badminton as he is already the best of the best winning all the major tournaments like the All England, World Championship and also the Olympics.

Not too sure what is wrong with him, hope you badminton lovers out there can give some insight on what is happening or wrong with Super Dan?

Lee Chong Wei made it to the finals of the All England 2010 badminton championship for the second year running. Chong Wei defeated Peter Gade in the semi finals with a score of 21-17, 21-14 in 47 minutes.

Chong Wei chances of winning this years tournament is much brighter after Lin Dan exit in the hands of Bao Chunlai.

Chong Wei opponent in the final will be up and coming Japan player, Kenichi Tago. Tago defeated Chunlai 18-21, 22-20,21-18 in a 76 minutes battle.

Chong Wei chances to win the All England is bright as Tago don’t have a good track record against Chong Weil. Malaysians will be keeping their fingers crossed so that Chong Wei will finally lift a prestigious tournament. Tago will be tough to beat as he also is gunning for personal glory.

All the best to Chong Wei and we at Malaysia is waiting for you to nail this one!

Lee Chong Wei continued his journey at the All England 2010 badminton championship when he defeated Chetan Anand of India 21-15, 21-16 in a 26 minutes battle.

Sony is next up for Chong Wei. It will be a mouth watering affair as Chong Wei will be looking to avenge his defeat to Sony at the last World Championships.

The biggest shocked for Malaysia happened in the men doubles event when top seed Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong lost in straights games to Danish pairing of Jonas Rasmussen-Lars Paaske. The top Malaysian pair lost in just 27 minutes, loosing 13-21 and 11-21.

Malaysia women team was more disappointing as all crashed out. Wong Mew Choo lost to Jiang Yanjiao 18-21, 9-21.

Wong Pei Tty-Chin Eei Hui lost to Greysia Polii-Meiliana Jauhari 20-22,15-21. Pei Tty-Eei Hui is ranked fourth in this tournament.

Gan Teik Chai-Tan Bin Shen, Hafiz, Tan Fook-Wan Wah together with Chong Wei are still the remaining players left to carry Malaysia challenge in the All England.

I won’t be surprised if Chong Wei and company will be sent home all together today as their nemesis waiting at the next round are all tough.
