Zhang Ning took on Lin Dan’s girlfriend Xie Xing Fang in the Beijing Olympics 2008 women singles gold medal event.

Zhang Ning announced that the Beijing Olympic will be her last in action as a badminton player. To be honest Zhang Ning almost lost in the first round at the Beijing Olympics 2008 where she was pulled to the distance by Salakjit Ponsana.

Zhang Ning also won narrowly against Pi Hongyan where she won 21-19 in the 3rd set.

On paper this is an evenly contested battle of the two best ladies in the world of badminton. To be honest, i didn’t watch this match live as well and this is the first time I myself is watching this match.

I am amazed with the level on intensity showed by both players. I am pretty sure most of you knows the results of this match but for those who don’t do enjoy this battle. Anyway both players have retired from badminton.

P/S Didn’t know that this is my first Zhang Ning video in Badmintonfreak. Dang how could i miss on one of my favorite ladies player on my site? -_-
