This is old news. the Lin dan of 2006 cannot begin to even touch the lin dan of today. the second game was very close and had it come to the 3rd game, the results may have been different. All credit to Taufik, he was still in his prime at this time and lin Dan was not yet there. After this tournament however it’s a different story. When you lose to soemone in the world finals you either crawl back into a hole or get better as a player, so credit Lin Dan and this match for making him the player he is today. sure, this was a big loss but during the time lin was beating taufik as well and had a good record against him. And now fast forward it appears that taufik doesnt have much hope of beating lin in a match. its a shame that badminton isnt big like tennis..otherwise, lin dan would have made untold millions by now.
wow, brings back memory, this is when taufik was at his best, look at those jump backhand smash at 12:42, wow such a gifted athlete. but, yeah Lin dan brings different game to badminton, i wish taufik have a wonderful fitness like Chong Wei, or Peter Gade, so he could be far more from injuries.
