I picked Marc Zwiebler picture for this post to give him credit for doing well in the Denmark Open 2009. Nobody expected him to feature in the finals but he managed it.
Along the way, Marc Zwiebler defeated Wong Choong Hann, erratic Hafiz Hashim, Chen Long and Sony Dwi Kuncoro. A great feat by a German player.
Anyway, Marc Zwiebler had to face Simon Santoso the up and coming star of badminton from Indonesia. Can he make history by being the first German player to win a Super Series event? Stay tune to watch it.

Very good match. Some really good rallies regardless of score. Simon was just too good, made very little errors. Marc also played well, best i’ve seen from him, but he looked a bit tired.
could you please upload the other games of marc zwiebler? If you have some
Great match!
I enjoyed it very much.
Agree with Kevin. Best stuff I’ve ever seen from Zwiebler ! The rallies were quit extraordinary, quit long and precise, good skills both of ‘em showed.
Thanks Jason, I loved this match in particular, because I’m German.
Really really thanks a lot !!:)
can you please upload the other games of marc zwiebler?
What happened at 21:05 first game!? He just walked away. o_O
Wow, Simon was good, can he be the next hidayat?
To Benny : Hard for Simon to be the next Taufik. He does not have what it takes to replace and win all the honours won by Taufik but i hope he can proof me wrong! ^^
Jason and Benny,
Taufik is a hard act to follow. AE Finqal at 17, won Oympic gold at 23, beat LD 15-3, 15-7 (you can call it thrashing) in 2005 World. Simon is a quiet achiever, he did well to win the recent Danish SS but that is as far as he can go. At best, Simon will be the same level as Malaysia’s WCH, if that.
you forget that WCH was vice-worldchampion in 2003
now he’s 33 years old…you cant compare them because WCH is a lot older than simon^^
Mart
I didn’t forget, WCH used to be one of my fav players too. What I am saying is Simon’s best can be compared to WCH’s best, if that. During 2004 Olympics, Lee Hung Il said apart from him, 3 other players can win Olympic gold, Taufik, LD and ……..WCH. In the Qtr Final, Taufik beat WCH in 3 sets. WC won a total of 6 titles.
Simon Santoso still young hope can be the great player and be the next hidayat. Simon very cool…….
